It's not always about the price, you know.
Your TV habits say a lot about you and what digital cable package you should buy.
K.I.S.S. (“Keep It Simple, Silly”)
If you’re just a casual viewer and want only the basic networks, providers such as Comcast offer around 25 channels at $20. Satellite also offers local channels with some cable (ESPN, FX, History, VH1) without the more premium channels. The key is to search for the basic cable packages. And if you can't find it amidst all the screaming promotional rates, bug the sales representative and insist that, that is the only service you're interested in.

For those of you who may be subscribed to Comcast’s TV and Internet services, On Demand programs are available for viewing through a portal on Comcast’s website. DirecTV, on the other hand, lets you watch shows and movies that you record on your DVR on your home computer. Check out if your cable provider has this feature.
“Sports is where the action is”
Getting all your favorite sports doesn’t have to mean paying top dollar. You can get Comcast’s basic cable plan, and an extra $5 gives you 17 sports channels on top of it. If sticks, pucks, and broken teeth are more your thing, you can get all the hockey you want for an extra $119.80.
“Around The World”
For the most international channels, with packages for 27 languages, Dish is your best bet. DirecTV follows with packages for nine languages. Both providers will cost you, however, with some reaching up to $59.99 a month. If you habla Español, you can also get Comcast’s CableLatino package at an extra $9.95 on top of your basic plan. Ask your provider if they have a similar feature.
